Today truly is a milestone for Professional Mail Services, Inc. as we celebrate our 30th anniversary in business providing mailing services not only for the Triangle and the State of North Carolina but the Country. It's been a long road to reach this milestone with many bumps along the way but two things are certain; we could not have done this without our dedicated employees or our customers. Paul and I never could have imagined how far we would come 30 years ago when we incorporated with the State of North Carolina on June 29, 1981.

I recently upgraded computers which meant copying over all 7,100+ songs from my library. One thing I forgot I had found years ago was the tweak I had made that allows you to rate songs in iTunes with half stars. I realize this may seem trivial to many people but with 7,100+ songs to choose from, the half star option is extremely important to me as it allows me to better organize my library.

When you send a piece of direct mail to a potential client or customer, does the piece have a call to action? Do they have to mail back an enclosed response card? How about bring a coupon into your location for a discount? Or does it prompt them to refer to your website for more information?

QR (Quick Response) codes have been around since 1994 but have only recently become popular with consumers, especially in the United States. QR Codes are now being seen everywhere from retail stores to advertisements in newspapers and magazines to billboards to coupons to business cards to direct mail marketing pieces to billing statements. With the increased use of smartphones utilizing the camera and a downloaded application, many consumers can now scan QR Codes thus they are becoming more effective among marketers.

RockMelt Browser to Change Browsers Forever?

After downloading the limited beta of RockMelt, the newest browser on the web, today I have to say that I'm impressed. And I have to question if RockMelt will change the way we use browsers forever. At first glance, it is very similar to Google Chrome and it should be since both are built on Chromium open source architecture. And RockMelt's main backer, Marc Andreessen, is no stranger to web browsers...
