Obviously the statements and invoices that you send to customers have one primary goal; getting payments remitted.  But have you thought about the fact that when you send a customer a bill that you have their attention and that you might be missing a marketing opportunity?  Generally, the accounting department is responsible for sending out statements and invoices and the marketing department for marketing; but think about what can happen when the two come together.
